This small bathroom needed an aesthetic upgrade and a larger shower. The design borrowed space from the adjacent bedroom, just enough to create a larger shower. Design elements that made the shower more functional include a recessed niche and a small foot ledge that runs the length of the shower. Both provide ample storage and a shaving ledge. We used classic subway tile in a modern size on the shower walls and as wainscoting in the rest of the bathroom. The 2” hexagon mosaic floor in Calacatta gold marble is another classic material with a modern feel. The floral wallcovering is the star of the show! Its colorful pattern provides just the right touch of whimsy!
